Maker, curator, consultant

I am a director of an arts organisation, an experienced exhibitions manager and I love making hand-pulled prints. Most of my prints are created using the endangered heritage craft, letterpress printmaking (though I do dabble in etching, lino and gelli plate printmaking too). I have always loved heritage, crafts and the arts; having run National Trust houses and estates, curated exhibitions and making my own artwork. I enjoy working with letterpress because of the tactile nature of the wooden type and its inherent imperfections when it is old and a little tired from many years of hard labour! I love to capture words (usually as one-off letterpress monoprints due to the way the prints are uniquely inked and not created as editions). I have always been interested in language and love poetry but language has taken on a different meaning for me as the mum of a lovely little boy who is autistic and mostly non-verbal. Words are now even more precious and letterpress is a way for me to capture them for safekeeping.
